Trim size is too large for intended audience's small hands; FAR too many words to hold the attention of toddlers or babies; cute-but-busy illustrations。 Also, I know nobody agrees, but where the flip is Pluto。 Trim size is too large for intended audience's small hands; FAR too many words to hold the attention of toddlers or babies; cute-but-busy illustrations。 Also, I know nobody agrees, but where the flip is Pluto。 。。。more
Julia,
Super cute book and Stella loved it。 Only disappointment is there is no Pluto。 Has rhyming facts and cute illustrations about each planet。
Jennifer,
Love love love this STEM board book! Colorful, cut outs that appeal to tactile learners, chock full of great info about the planets - and full of rhymes! Highly recommend。 I wish this book existed when my youngest was a preschooler! A must have for any personal or preschool library。
Haya Od,
Nice book, my baby like this book a lot and now he is year and a half and now all the planets by pointing on them correctly
Margie Sierra,
I love this book and so did my nephew。 There are some vocabulary words that you may want to have definitions or explanations for like: strife, sulfur, orbiting, axis, octillion, weird, and dizzy。 The last sentence was a little off to me but I really enjoyed the book as a whole especially how the narrative is written in verses, the words flow smoothly。
Lauren,
My son got this book for his Birthday and it’s adorable! I love how it rhymes almost like you could sing it。 I also really love the pages are cut out to circles in the middle like the planets big to small (or really further from the son to closest to the sun)。 They even all had little party hats on them。 It was cute and educational。 Would recommend for babies and little kids。
KaitandMaddie,
So cute。 Kait helped me read it。
Jaime,
This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I read this to Julianna tonight。 2nd time this week。 She enjoyed reading about the 8 planets and the rainbow。 Cute book。 She gives 5 stars。
Tiziana,
Really cute and colourfully illustrated book to introduce children to the planets in our solar system。
Jacob,
Neat concept intro to the solar system
Jocelin,
Super cute board book about the planets in our solar system。 Simple facts that are easy to read。 Little ones will want to study astronomy(possibly)。😀
Brandie Gruss,
Adding this to our future purchases, love the photos and the education!
L。A。,
Wanted to like this, but I Jill McDonald’s “Hello World: Solar System” is better。 The center cutout I get, but I felt like it didn’t do anything to help a child understand where the planets are in relation to each other (the final page isn’t enough to do that in my estimation)。 The band around Uranus also was confusing to my toddler, because it appears to have just as many rings as the illustration of Saturn; the fact that its axis tilts isn’t enough distingushment at this age。 Also, the rhyming Wanted to like this, but I Jill McDonald’s “Hello World: Solar System” is better。 The center cutout I get, but I felt like it didn’t do anything to help a child understand where the planets are in relation to each other (the final page isn’t enough to do that in my estimation)。 The band around Uranus also was confusing to my toddler, because it appears to have just as many rings as the illustration of Saturn; the fact that its axis tilts isn’t enough distingushment at this age。 Also, the rhyming didn’t add anything。 。。。more
Khari,
I struggled between choosing 3 or 4 stars for this one, so I finally decided to be generous。This is a cute book。 The art is cute。 Each planet is anthropomorphized and a portion of its unique information is presented in little rhymes。 The author did a great job of not presenting too much information and drowning the reader in facts。 The book is useful for teaching the order of the planets while presenting ideas such as distance from the sun relating to orbit length and size relating to axis spin I struggled between choosing 3 or 4 stars for this one, so I finally decided to be generous。This is a cute book。 The art is cute。 Each planet is anthropomorphized and a portion of its unique information is presented in little rhymes。 The author did a great job of not presenting too much information and drowning the reader in facts。 The book is useful for teaching the order of the planets while presenting ideas such as distance from the sun relating to orbit length and size relating to axis spin time。 As such it presents difficult but foundational astronomical concepts in easy to understand language and for that it got an extra star。Story: Dictionary-Informational-But it has some characterization to help that along。Art: AdorablePrice: 10。99 。。。more

I REALLY liked sticking my hand through the circular holes in this book。 I helped my mom hold it while she read to me。 I even tried a nibble but she told me it's not food。 That's too bad。 At least it had nice colors! 👶 I REALLY liked sticking my hand through the circular holes in this book。 I helped my mom hold it while she read to me。 I even tried a nibble but she told me it's not food。 That's too bad。 At least it had nice colors! 👶 。。。more

Rebekah,
This book is presented so nicely with some great info about our solar system’s planets however each page follows the exact same pattern which we were bored with by the end。 There are lots of almost rhymes (for a laugh we like to just say the words wrong so they rhyme) and they point out a negative aspect of the planet before saying something along the lines of “don’t worry because x” which I thought was a bit lame。
Ingrid Fetell,
The die cut is great, as are the illustrations, but what I dislike intensely are the normative judgments applied to the planets。 Neptune is “old and slow,” Uranus “looks weird” because it spins on one side, “silly old Saturn” is “far too busy。” The intent seems to be cleverness but every time I read the words I feel like I’m reinforcing awful stereotypes。 Planets are interesting enough without applying negative human judgments。 Will get rid of this as soon as baby understands the words。
Erin,
A fun board book to introduce the planets to a child。 Only thing, while it isn't a complaint, but it went from outter planets (neptune) to inner planets (mercury)。 And I KNOW that how the book is designed (circles cut out of the center) it makes sense to go that direction, I am just not used to that direction that it felt backwards。 Again not wrong, just didn't feel right to a person who has been singing the planet order since I can remember。 (And that it too long of a review for a simple board A fun board book to introduce the planets to a child。 Only thing, while it isn't a complaint, but it went from outter planets (neptune) to inner planets (mercury)。 And I KNOW that how the book is designed (circles cut out of the center) it makes sense to go that direction, I am just not used to that direction that it felt backwards。 Again not wrong, just didn't feel right to a person who has been singing the planet order since I can remember。 (And that it too long of a review for a simple board book about planets。。。) *Erin done* 。。。more

Natalie Triveri,
Absolutely love this book, it is my son’s favorite, we’ve read it so much and it is so loved I’ve had to tape it back together a few times。 It’s the most simple and most informative format with adorable illustrations。 If I could give it 6 stars I would。 My son especially enjoys the little list of facts on the back of the book, and I love that the book itself is dedicated to the minor planet Pluto。 Excellent job, cute, and very educational。
Dallin Christensen,
Dallin loves reading this one again and again and learning about the eight planets in our solar system。 He loves pointing out the rocket ship on the Saturn page and the sattelite on the earth page。 He loves to point to earth and say, "Hey! That's where we live! The blue planet!" The rhymes at the beginning and end are a bit odd, but since Dallin enjoys it I'm still giving it 5 stars, especially since it's pretty informative for a board book。 Dallin loves reading this one again and again and learning about the eight planets in our solar system。 He loves pointing out the rocket ship on the Saturn page and the sattelite on the earth page。 He loves to point to earth and say, "Hey! AFP,
The text in this book is a little long for my one-year-old, and she dislikes the rhyme cadence! LOL
